No one type (flat, hierarchical, hybrid….) is ideal structure for any organization. As per its complexity and nature of work any organization can define its structure. So far whenever any organization talks about mapping an organization structure; only people placement comes in the picture. With changing era, now the placement has been divided between people & technology along with how it will be divided in hierarchy manner.

Right way to design macro framework begin actually with micro task identification of the organization as that helps to understand what can be done automated in one’s organization and for what specific areas people will be required.
